Traveling Fatima and Sacred Heart Statues at IHM
We have resumed the visitation of homes in the Parish with the IHM traveling (Pilgrim Virgin) statue of Our Lady of Fatima. This Fatima statue, a reminder of Our Blessed Mother’s presence among us, visits different homes in the parish on a biweekly basis. Each household is invited to pray daily for your intentions. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.
Also, the Sacred Heart of Jesus statue is resuming its travels to homes with the express purpose of praying for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We need more religious vocations so much.
The IHM Legion of Mary sponsors the statues and will arrange to bring one to your home.
We respect your personal preferences, if requested, for masking and social distancing.

The Society St. Vincent de Paul at IHM
IHM’s SVDP Society assists people in need in the Andorra/Roxborough/Manayunk area and in other nearby Philadelphia neighborhoods. Our funding comes primarily from the poor box so please continue to be generous.
Although we continued our mission during the pandemic, we carefully followed recommended guidelines including cancelling our meetings in Father Sullivan Hall. However, we continued to monitor our HelpLine and made decisions via telephone, email, texting, and socially distanced individual meetings.
With the advent of numerous vaccines and the drop in new cases, we have begun cautiously meeting again at IHM. If you’d like to join us in this rewarding volunteer work, come to a meeting in the Knights of Columbus Room in Father Sullivan Hall from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
If you have any questions and would like to speak with a member, please call the IHM Rectory at 215-483-1000 and ask for the St. Vincent de Paul HelpLine. Leave your name and number, and a member will get back to you.
Our currently scheduled upcoming meetings are
July 19, August 9, and August 30.
A Note of Thanks to our Parishioners for their
2020 Support of
The IHM Conference of The Society of
Saint Vincent de Paul
Through your continuing generous contributions to the Poor Box, the annual SVDP church envelope, our GreenDrop Clothing Drives, the Giving Tree, as well as generous donations from individuals, we have been able to pay bills totaling nearly $30,000 to help neighbors in need during this past year, 2020. Although most of our clients have been in the Roxborough/Andorra/Manayunk area, we have also been blessed to assist those living in the boundaries of our sister parish (Our Lady of Hope) and other nearby locations. Our assistance is given without regard to race, color or creed, only with regard to legitimate need.
As you know, 2020 presented us with many difficulties, which we adjusted to with social distancing, masks, zoom meetings, and use of phones, texting, and emails for much of our communicating. During this time, we especially appreciate all the support we received from Father Casey and his excellent office staff.
During this year, we spent time with 11 families and 13 individuals who asked for our assistance. We offered them understanding and support, referred them to a variety of non-profit and service groups in our area, and assisted them with bills when necessary. Your financial support allowed us to assist with numerous bills and financial burdens that helped families remain in their homes when they were faced with unexpected medical, insurance, moving and repair expenses. We have also delivered food from a local food bank and over $2500 in gift cards donated by parishioners during the season of Advent.
With your support we have been privileged to bring Christ’s caring love to people of all faiths in our area, when they are in need. If you think you might be interested in joining The Society in this valuable work, you can speak with any of the members listed below or you can call the Rectory to ask for the SVdP HelpLine where you can leave your name and phone number. Someone will contact you to share information.
