Sacraments: Please note, you must be a registered parishioner of IHM for at least 6 months before obtaining a letter of eligibility to be a Godparent or Confirmation Sponsor.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at
12:30 p.m. Next dates:     December 1st and 15th, January 5th and 19th

Pre-Jordan

Instruction/sacramental preparation for parents is held in the Sacred Heart Chapel every other month – January, March, May, July, September and November. Parents of children to be baptized should contact Denise Schmidt at 215-483-1000 between the hours of 9 am to 4 pm to register and make arrangements. The next date for Pre-Jordan class is to be determined.  Pre-Jordan sacramental preparation is required for each child to be baptized at IHM.

Marriage

To adequately prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage, Archdiocesan policy requires that couples contact one of the priests of the parish at least 6 months in advance.

IHM offers a one day Pre-Cana Seminar that assists couples in preparation for their upcoming marriage. The Pre-Cana is conducted twice a year (Spring and Fall).The Spring 2020 date is April 4, 2020.

The parishes of Manayunk and East Falls will present the Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation Program on Saturday,
December 14, 2019 in the Holy Family Parish Hall , 236 Hermitage Street. The day begins with registration at 8:00am and concludes with attendance at the 4pm Vigil Mass in Holy Family church. Certificates are presented after Mass. Registration is $100 per couple and includes the cost of materials, continental breakfast, lunch and snacks. To register, please call Holy Family Rectory, 215-482-0450, Tuesday through Thursday between 9am and 3pm.

RCIA – Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

This is the program for those interested in initiation into the Catholic Faith. Information is also available for those who may not have completed the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
